Learning how to Push Pause is quite an art, life is pretty fast paced and we get caught up in chasing the ‘super’ versions of ourselves, you know the person that manages it all and takes pride in impressing people with how much stuff they have on the go. We have taught ourselves that being busy is the goal and that mindset is not going away anytime soon so lets practise a bit of ‘do not disturb’ down time.
First up, you need to discover your thing, something you love to do, it clears your head and recharges your battery. You maybe an active relaxer or perhaps you like to just sit in a quiet spot and read a book. What ever it is, find it. You might need to try out a few things to see what works.. So just to get you started, here are some goodies
Bend it. Yoga is something you can do for 90 minutes or 9 minutes. Its very personal and can be a great way to re set yourself.
Catch a break, surfing is a popular choice and amazing fitness. Jump into a lesson at a local surf school and see if its for you!
Get your hands dirty in the backyard, leave your phone inside and just be at one with some greenery. This reminds you to appreciate the small things and to stop and smell the roses (because by then you’ll realise how much work goes into getting those buggers looking good)
One never gets sick of seeing the beautiful wonder that is a sunrise or a sunset so chuck on your walking shoes and head out alone or with a friend. Its a stunning time of day to witness
Get creative! Sketch, paint, sculpt, what ever it is just give it a go and don’t be afraid to make a mess!
