Makeup is pretty subjective. Not one of us has the same face, skin, eyes, lips etc. etc. so what looks good on Anja Rubik
will may not look so great on you. But like with everything, there are some general rules we can follow so to not turn up looking like your little sister’s Bratz doll.
Tip #1: Be thorough in your research and direct in your approach. If you are going to get a makeup artist to do it make sure you know exactly what you want because if you give them free reign you will not like it. I assure you.
Tip #2: Lips or eyes. Choose one.
Tip #3: Consider what you will be doing for most of the night. Are you a dance-till-you-can’t-dance-no-more person? Because if you are don’t wear too much makeup, it’ll look like shit come 3am.
Tip #4: As an extension of #3 – purchase a good powder (MAC or Bare Minerals are the best in my opinion) and keep it in your bag. That way when you take a break from dropping it low on the dance floor (what?) you can dab your sweaty face with a towel and reapply.
Fun Fact: if you hate foundation you’re still going to hate it when it’s done by someone else.
Tip #5: Bronzer is both the devil and your best friend. Make sure it’s the latter.
