New Zealand Fashion Week 2011 – WORLD

One of the shows during NZFW 2011 that had the most hype around it was WORLD, for the reason that 1- WORLD is always a top show at NZFW, and 2 – the winner of New Zealand’s Next Top Model cycle 3 would be streamed live and announced on TV. To begin, there were three drag queens dressed in gold dresses, who came out and shimmied their way down the runway lip-synching Fergie’s ‘glamorous’. Outrageous. Even more outrageous was the actual show.

Opening the show, models dressed in spacewear-inspired, glow in the dark outfits made an entrance, standing at the top of the runway before walking down. In collaboration with Number One Shoes, the collection was part of ‘WORLD Made Me Do It’.

Outrageous was definitely an understatement; the WORLD collection was out of this world with all the thick fluffy furs, spikey head pieces, exaggerated shoulders, fake eyelashes and diamante lips.

At the end, the NZNTM judges, Sara Tetro, Chris Sisarich, and Colin Mathura-Jeffree, deliberated before announcing that although all three girls, Brigette, Rosanagh, and Bianca, were in close competition, the winner of the the title as cycle 3′s NZNTM was Brigette. Well done Brigette, we hope your modeling career takes you far!
