New Zealand Fashion Week 2011 – Merino Show
Although the weather had been warming up slightly, in typical Auckland fashion (excuse the pun), Day 4 of NZFW 2011 started with heavy rain. Luckily, the Merino show kept everybody warm in winter woolies. This show comprised a range of designers including Taylor, Miranda Brown, Life of Reilly, Starfish, and Untouched World.
Taylor
Excessive layering and thigh-high splits, this collection was on trend in a very novel and unique manner.
Miranda Brown
Keeping to the trends of mono-chromaticism, Miranda Brown showcased many brights as well as prints of extinct New Zealand species.
Life of Reilly

Models kept the collection girlish and cute, carrying bunches of flowers down the runway. The use of bold pink throughout the collection kept it lively.
Starfish
Eccentric stripes, hats, and the most comfortable shoes were featured at Starfish – definitely great for those rainy winter days when you want nothing more than to sit inside with a hot chocolate, reading a good book.
Untouched World

Casual, yet cool, the collections at the Merino show featured pieces that would be practical for next winter. What better way to look stylish yet keep warm at the same time?
