New Zealand Fashion Week – Workshop Denim + Helen Cherry
The last show of Day 3 was Workshop, held at the Auckland Town Hall. Upon arrival, the stage had been set, but the show ran about half an hour behind (fashionably late, remember?). Split into two sections, Workshop Denim and Helen Cherry, hot models walked across the town hall stage and through the audience in a fashionable manner.
Workshop Denim
The Workshop Denim collection was very practical and wearable, yet quite preppy, comprising many leather jackets, tapered pants, knee length skirts once again, checkered shirts, camo, and hot colored sunnies. Good use of models, great venue location and great music, the collection was one of my favorites of the week.
Helen Cherry
Hats were, once again, present at Helen Cherry, as were bold block colours, sheer printed garments, tapered pants, fur, and red – a color that has been popular on the runway this NZFW 2011. A modern twist on femininity, I deem that this collection will make its way into many wardrobes next winter.
